The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) in Benue said on Wednesday that it had registered more than 300,000 members during the party’s membership registration.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party had scheduled March 17 to March 23 for its nationwide membership registration.

The state Interim Chairman of the party, Mr Shimawua Adzagba, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi that lack of logistics adversely affected the exercise.

“The national secretariat of our party did not release logistics for the registration exercise in the state. The whole exercise was purely by individual commitment.

“Officially we have completed the exercise, but we are yet to collect the data due to lack of logistics.

“However, during my supervision of the exercise and the data available shows that over 300,000 people had so far registered with our party across the state.

Adzagba said registration also took place in displaced people’s camps in the crisis affected local governments of the state.

He said the since the registration would continue he expected more people to join the party.
