Hon. Isa Nathaniel JP, Chairman of the Counter and Mobilisation Team for the RTD IGP Adamu 2027 Movement, has raised the alarm over a coordinated attempt by certain political actors to frustrate, suppress, and delegitimise the ongoing grassroots mobilisation and distribution of APC membership cards across the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State.

“These calculated actions represent a dangerous assault on internal democracy and the foundational principles upon which the All Progressives Congress (APC) was built,” he stated.

The APC, he said, is not the private enterprise of a privileged clique, nor a structure to be manipulated for selfish political preservation.

“It is a party sustained by the sacrifices, loyalty, and electoral strength of ordinary grassroots members whose collective mandate remains the backbone of its existence.”

The Movement, he stressed, “unequivocally condemns any scheme aimed at intimidating, suppressing, or disenfranchising genuine party faithful for narrow political interests. Such anti-democratic tactics are unacceptable, divisive, and capable of destabilising the unity and credibility of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“It is particularly disturbing that some individuals have embarked on a campaign of deliberate misinformation by falsely claiming that only membership cards allegedly issued or endorsed by the State Secretariat will be recognised for future party primaries. This narrative is deceptive, unconstitutional, and intentionally designed to create fear, confusion, and political exclusion within the party structure.”

He added: “For the avoidance of doubt, neither the Constitution of the APC, its operational guidelines, nor the Electoral Act confers exclusive legitimacy on membership cards solely on the basis of endorsement by the State Secretariat.

“No political cabal or self-appointed gatekeeper possesses the constitutional authority to arbitrarily invalidate the membership status of duly registered APC members across wards and local government structures in Nasarawa State.”

Grassroots registration, ward-based documentation, and mass mobilisation remain lawful and historically recognised mechanisms for strengthening party structures and broadening democratic participation, he said.

“Participation in party affairs is determined by verifiable membership and compliance with party regulations, not by intimidation, administrative manipulation, political blackmail, or the desperation of individuals terrified of losing political relevance.”

“Those attempting to weaponise party structures for factional dominance must understand that suppressing loyal party members is a reckless political gamble capable of weakening the APC before the electorate. A political party that turns against its own grassroots inevitably undermines its moral authority and electoral viability,” he said.

“We therefore caution those orchestrating these anti-democratic manoeuvres to immediately desist from further actions capable of provoking avoidable internal crises, deepening distrust, and destabilising the fragile cohesion of the party across the state.”

The RTD IGP Adamu 2027 Movement, he emphasised, remains firmly committed to internal democracy, lawful political engagement, inclusiveness, and grassroots empowerment.

“We call on all supporters, stakeholders, and registered APC members across Nasarawa State to remain calm, vigilant, disciplined, and resolute in the face of provocation. Do not succumb to intimidation. Do not be discouraged by propaganda engineered to manipulate party processes and suppress participation,” he urged.

“Continue to identify with the APC within your wards and local government areas through all legitimate mobilisation channels. Your membership is valid. Your voice is consequential. Your participation in shaping the political future of Nasarawa State cannot and will not be extinguished by coercion, manipulation, or bureaucratic intimidation.

“Ultimately, the destiny of Nasarawa State will be determined by the collective will of the people, not by fear, propaganda, or political merchants seeking to monopolise party structures for selfish survival.”
