Abubakar Hashim
I have carefully and meticulously investigated the core reasons why the Nigerian Embassies are poorly funded and yet without accredited ambassadors.
The reasons are really compelling and significant
Many other countries have passed through these phases. The US, UK, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, and others reformed their diplomatic missions abroad.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar is the brainchild of the current reforms at the Ministry. He is one of the best Foreign Ministers in terms of putting the ministry in contemporary settings.
The technological era is sweeping the global landscape in all spheres.
The media, where I belong, is tech-driven. The arts, culture, banking, construction, and all major engagements are tech-driven.
No need for bloated personnel and paperwork.
In virtually all embassies worldwide, digitalisation of diplomatic duties persists and at lower costs.
Ambassadors will soon be posted out of Nigeria. Routine diplomatic duties will be tech-driven to reduce operational costs and beef up efficiency.
Nigeria will continue its international obligations. Diplomatic duties will be pruned down. Foreign personnel will be scaled down. Missions will merge.
Technology will replace paperwork.
The new foreign policy of the current government is in line with current trends in the world.
