Great relief has come the way of two communities in Ado-Odo, Ado-Odo Ota local government area of Ogun state, as they took delivery of two solar-powered boreholes on Thursday.
The donation was facilitated by the Alliance for KAMOSKY, a coalition of friends and supporters of Alhaji Kamardeen Olawale Yusuf, Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties and Dr. Abdul-Lateef Sulaiman, who share in their vision to make the society a better by lending a helping hand to the less privileged.
Justifying the need for the good gesture, the spokesman of the group, Mr. Oladapo Edun said it was borne out of the need to ameliorate the living conditions of the communities who have been suffering lots of privations more than they are willing to admit.
According to him, the project was facilitated by the duo as part of their own modest way of assisting the cause of the less privileged members of the society.
While formally commissioning the two boreholes and presenting them to the members of both communities, Edun urged the beneficiaries to ensure the safety and security of the infrastructure.
“Bearing in mind the enormous efforts that went into putting these solar-powered boreholes in place, it is absolutely important that the communities must take full responsibility for their safety and security. The water project will no doubt ease the burden of residents and market women within these neighbourhoods, so it behooves you all to take proper care of them,” he appealed.
Speaking on behalf of the two communities, one of the elders was effusive with praises for the donations, even as he prayed to God to continue to bless every cause and endeavours of their benefactors.
“Now our suffering has come to an end. Whether there is electricity supply or not, we can easily fetch water with ease,” he said, even as he assured that the communities would help to safeguard the facility while appreciating the donors for their timely intervention.
