Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister Impressed About Reforms At SLRSA

In an unannounced official visit to the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority, SLRSA, yesterday, May 28, 2025, Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister ( Prime Minister) Dr David Moinina Sengeh, was visibly impressed at the ongoing reforms and revolutionary drive of the new Executive Director, ED, James Baggie Bio and his team.

Being an unannounced and unexpected visit, the Chief Minister met the SLRSA team in a management meeting. The ED moved in quickly to receive the Chief Minister, who supervises all government departments and agencies, and took him round all operational areas of the entity and its partners, Autospect SL and Autoparts Freetown.

The Chief Minister saw how the licensing process is fully automated at SLRSA, in partnership with Autospect, with no middlemen involved, how the fitness of vehicles is done at ease and how vehicles that fail fitness tests are referred to Autoparts for rectification.

The mobile computerised vehicle for outdoor licensing, to reduce overcrowding and congestion at SLRSA offices, was also shown to the Chief Minister.

In his response, the Chief Minister remarked about the ongoing reforms, stating that they align with the President Maada Bio’s vision for the country. He further remarked about the SLRSA toll-free line, 844, from all networks, and a WhatsApp number, 030 844844, wherein people can send pictorial messages of auto crashes, abandoned vehicles, or any road traffic offences. This renders the ease of work as many people now use WhatsApp.

The quiet wind of reforms and revolution ongoing at SLRSA, in just less than 100 days in office of the new ED and his team, has received commendation from the office of the Chief Minister, in an unannounced and unscheduled visit to the entity yesterday.

The current momentum at SLRSA to deliver results is expected, now that alliances with similar organisations in the sub-region are strengthened.
