Like an acorn seed which became a big oak, The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) that started off from a sitting room is marking its 35th anniversary. Thus, the church, at a press conference at held at its International Headquarters at Onike, by the University of Lagos Second Gate, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, unveiled a series of activities for the anniversary. The theme of all the events is “Power from on High.
According to the church” “MFM will be 35 years old and we believe it is a landmark worthy of celebration and rejoicing to the glory of God who doeth wonders
“Members of the MFM across the seven continents, those at home, and all children of God, believers in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, are all expected and welcome to the three-day event of activities, spanning from Friday, 16 through Sunday 18 August at the Prayer City, Kilometer 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.”
As contained in a statement signed by MFM’s Assistant General overseer, Pastor Kehinde Adegbolahan, the programs are:
“Friday is for the arrival and registration of the guests; Saturday is the main day, when most of the activities will be held, till the wee hours of the next morning, while on Sunday, Thanksgiving service will be held, to thank God for His kindness to the Ministry in the past 35 years
“God has really manifested Himself in the lives of MFM members and used the Ministry to bless so many other believers, who have been sharing outstanding testimonies to God’s kindness,” the church disclosed
The statement further emphasised that this year’s celebration is unique and important as a church “because it symbolises a major landmark in the church’s epochal and divinely-orchestrated history.
The Assistant General Overseer (African Countries), Pastor Lawrence Olaseinde, while fielding questions from journalists, stressed that the event “is mainly spiritual and thus will be filled with more preachings, teachings and prayers.”
According to him, “God has done a lot for us. The MFM church started from a sitting room 35 years ago and God has blessed the ministry to the point it is now today.
He disclosed further that God has helped the church to own and manage schools; Primary, Secondary to Higher Institution
Also speaking, Pastor Clement Iworu, Vice Chairman, Convention Committee, said the vision of the church “is not to teach its members to just pray or fast but to be a responsible citizen and individual to the world at large.”
Highlighting the various empowerment programmes the church has initiated, Pastor Iworu disclosed that the church “has created a platform for teaching skills coupled with financial aid to establish.”
He added that the church has also awarded scholarships, give palliatives as well as road construction among others
Meanwhile, the Founder and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Prof. Daniel Olukoya, earlier lauded the transformation of the Church since its establishment in 1989
According to him, “MFM has transformed into a formidable presence worldwide”
In a Facebook post Thursday, the MFM GO appreciated God for His faithfulness over the Church
He said, “Starting as a humble assembly of fewer than 25 faithful members, including my brothers who now serve as the assistant General Overseer of MFM, the church of God has transformed into a formidable presence worldwide
“Like a sturdy oak tree, MFM has extended its reach across continents. As we celebrate this significant achievement, we recognize that our journey is far from over
“Through heartfelt praise and worship, we pay homage to the Sovereign Ruler of all, knowing that MFM’s legacy will endure. Long live MFM!”
