Owerri 2023: Eze Anaba Elected Guild of Editors’ President

Eze Anaba

A new President emerged today at the Nigerian Guild of Editors Convention in Owerri, the Imo State capital. He is Eze Anaba, Editor of Vanguard Media Limited.

Anaba took over from Mustspha Isa of the Silverbird Group.

Anaba scored 250 votes, while his main challenger, Bolaji Adebiyi, formerly of Thisday Newspapers, polled 81.

Eze Anaba was the Guild’s Social and Publicity Secretary

Anaba who was at various times, the Deputy Editor, Saturday Editor, Senior Deputy News Editor, and the Law and Human Rights Editor holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Leicester University, UK.

Mrs. Maimuna Garba, The chairman of the election committee, announced the outcome of the election.

While Dr. Iyobosa Uwugiaren was re-elected as the General Secretary; Sheddy Ozeone, Vice President (East); Charles Kalu, Social/Publicity Secretary, and Steve Nwosu

Members of the standing committees were also elected.

According to Anaba: “I will do everything to achieve our guild’s vision and mission for the socio-economic and political development of our Guild and country, Nigeria.”

Apart from thanking the members for the confidence reposed him, he promised not to disappoint them.
