Iliyasu hands over to new CP in Ogun

The immediate past Commissioner of Police in Ogun,  Ahmed Iliyasu has handed over to his successor,  Bashiru Makama who was recently appointed the new Commissioner of Police for the State.

The former Police  commissioner, during in the valedictory address at the police headquarter in Eleweran, Abeokuta, described Ogun State as peaceful, positing that the command has successfully dealt with criminals and cultists to a reasonable level, adding that no fewer than 100000 ammunition was seized from the criminals.

He therefore enjoined the people in the state to make security of lives and property their collective responsibilities and continue to support the new CP just as they have supported him during his stay as CP.

He also added that the war against criminals and criminality can be won. 

The new commissioner of police who was a political science graduate of Bayero University Kano  was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1986 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent   of Police (ASP).

 He has served in various police Commands across  the country in different capacities . 

 He was once an assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of operations in Anambra State, also serve as Area Commander in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

 He also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Kano State as well as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Special Protection Unit, Force Headquarters,  Abuja among others.
