The most anticipated South-south presidential campaign ‘mother of all rallies’ of Peoples Democratic slated for January 8 at the Adokye Amiesimaka stadium Port Harcourt has been postponed.
The South South rally would have been an opportunity to showcase PDP Atiku Abubakar/Peter Obi as Presidential Candidates for national election and handover of party flags to candidates of the party in the South South geopolitical zone made of Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers states.
In a statement signed by Oraye St Franklin, the Director of Social Media for Rivers  PDP campaign organization and also the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nyesom Wike for the New Media  said the postponement was due to “logistical constraints.”
But he did give any new date for the rally.
According to the statement, “We wish to inform our teeming supporters from across the South South of the shift in date of the much anticipated # PDPSouthSouthRally .
“This is to enable us organise a bigger, better and defining rally in the history of Nigerian politics, given that the South-South is the natural home of the Peoples Democratic Party. All logistical constraints are currently being worked out to make it a hitch-free experience for our party faithful from across the region and a truly epoch making event.
“A new date would be announced shortly. The inconvenience on account of the postponement is regretted. Thank you.”
