The International Lions Club, Leo District 404B1, Nigeria, said on Wednesday that it had renovated and equipped the Biology Laboratory and the Library of the State Senior High School, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State with over N600, 000.

Mr Quadri Tijani, the District President of Leo District 404B1, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said that the money was spent on the renovation and equipment of the facilities.

Tijani said that the renovation was informed by the need to gradually upscale the dwindling educational standards in the country.

According to him, when the right facilities are put in place and a conducive environment created, it will become easier for students to learn and understand.

“We renovated and painted the entire building, roof and ceiling, electrical works and lighting fittings were fixed, and we purchased new book shelves, new ceiling fans and new books.

“These books would be available for students to read and improve on all they have learnt in school.

“We bought new science calendar charts with various chemicals, which are to be used for experiments in the laboratory.

“The library and laboratory were abandoned due to inadequate facilities; they were in depleted structures before now,’’ he said.

Tijani said that the projects rounded the entire projects embarked upon since June 2018 till date, describing it as a remarkable achievement for the non-governmental organisation.

He said that most of the humanitarian services carried out were based on entrepreneurial skills acquisition, agriculture, education and free medical check-ups.
