How Buhari’s son ‘crashed’ while racing with a friend: report

More details are emerging on how Yusuf, the son of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari was involved in a bike accident through which he suffered head injury and multiple fractures in Abuja on Tuesday evening.

DAILY NIGERIAN quoted reliable sources as confirming that Yusuf was racing with a friend when he was involved in the crash.

“Yusuf was trying to overtake his friend when he suddenly veered off the road and skidded. He lay there unconscious for a while before the first lady was alerted,” Daily Nigeria said, quoting an unnamed family source.

Aisha, Yusuf’s mother and the wife of the Nigerian President, according to reports, ordered his evacuation to a private hospital immediately she was informed of the incident.

The report also quoted a family source as confirming that the son of the President was unconscious as a result of the head injury.

The Presidency had earlier confirmed that President Buhari’s son has been admitted following bike accident

Malam Shehu Garba, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity confirmed in a statement that Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident Tuesday night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to him, the President’s son broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result.

But he added that he has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja and is in a stable condition.
