Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has charged the people of Ibaji Local Government to continue to enjoy peaceful co-existence, saying peace is crucial to economic and infrastructural development.

Bello who spoke through his Director General on Media and Publicity assured the people of Ibaji that his administration will continue to promote development in the area.

“Our administration has proven its love for the people of Ibaji. Today, the Local Government boasts of the Deputy Governorship of the State and Government is also putting infrastructure in place to make life meaningful to the people”, he said.

He urged the people of Aluaja-Iyano in Ibaji Local Government to continue to adhere to the recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by government to ensure lasting peace in the area.

“Our administration is committed to peace and security. We shall spare nothing to ensure that our people live in peace and harmony. We appreciate all the community leaders that have contributed in no small measures to return peace to the warring areas in the Ibaji Local Government.

“This administration is looking at Ibaji for the realization of our agricultural ambitions. The Local Government, like many others, is critical to our drive for agricultural revolution.
“Now that Peace has been restored, government shall put in place institutions for ventilation of grievances without going to war. War is criminal and inhuman and will surely have no place in the 21st Century Kogi State”.

The Governor assured the people of Ibaji of development. He said the ongoing major road project in the Local Government is testament of his administration’s resolve to develop every part of the state.
