The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and haze weather conditions over the Central States of the country on Thursday with cloudy conditions over Lokoja, Ilorin, Jalingo and Makurdi.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 36 and 13 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy morning hours with prospects of afternoon and evening localised thunderstorms over Calabar, Eket, Port-Harcourt, Yenagoa, and Lagos.

It also predicted afternoon/evening isolated thunderstorms over Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Akure and Benin with day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 34 and 19 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience slight dust haze condition during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 35 and 13 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Slight dust haze condition is anticipated over the northern cities while sunny and hazy situation will prevail over the most places around the central cities.

“Partly cloudy to cloudy situation with chances of isolated thunderstorms are expected over the southern cities within the next 24 hours,’’ it added.
