The Plateau Command of the Nigerian Police says it has mobilised enough personnel to secure Rwang Pam Stadium venue of the last match between Plateau United versus Rangers match.

The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match which is the last fixture for 2016/2017 is scheduled for Saturday.

A large turnout of spectators is expected at watch the game expected to be thrilling.

A victory for Plateau United will see them lift the NPFL trophy for the first time in their history and equally return the coveted league crown to the city of Jos after Mighty Jets won the maiden edition.

Mr Peter Ogunyanwo, the Commissioner of Police, who briefed newsmen on Friday said that adequate security had been put in place.

“We have mobilised adequate security to ensure a hitch-free match.

“Our men have always ensured safety of the fans at the stadium and we will do the same this weekend,’’

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Plateau United is on course to make history if they win the match.

But Lagos-based MFM are also title contenders. Should Plateau United lose, MFM will also make history having been only two-year-old in the competition.

Plateau United has played 37 and has 63 points while MFM has 62 points from the same number of matches.
