Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike, alias Evans,  Nigeria’s most wanted kidnapper who was arrested over the weekend in Lagos has listed some of his victims and the ransoms he collected to set them free in a statement to the Police.

Evans was paraded alongside six of his gang members in Abuja on Sunday.

Abuja based Daily Trust newspaper published a list of the victims of the kidnap kingpin and the ransoms he collected from their families as contained in a police classified document containing Evan’s confessional statement.

Evans however said he could not recall most of the kidnapping incidents he was involved in, but he was able to recall the ones listed below:

Evans told the Police that he kidnapped one Mr. Mbarikatta William Uboma at Festac Town on June 16, 2012 for which his gang received N20 million as ransom before he was released.

He also revealed that Mr. Paul Cole from Ohafia in Abia State was also kidnapped by the gang on August 23, 2012, at Festac Town where N20m was also paid.

Mr. Mohammed Jamal, a Lebanese, who was kidnapped on August 19, 2012, at Ajah, paid N17 million at Ojo area of Lagos to regain his freedom.

Evan’s gang also kidnapped Mr. Kingsley Nwokenta on September 19, 2012, after he left Lebanon Bar in Festac Town, Lagos. The victim paid N15 million ransom and also gave his black Toyota Venza car  to the gang before he regained his freedom.

Also, the multimillionaire kidnapper said he gang was behind the abduction of one Mr. Anthony Ozoanidobi on October 10, 2012, along Marwa Road in Satellite Town, Lagos. Ozoanidobi paid N15m before he was taken to Apple junction, Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos and released.

Evans further stated that his gang also kidnapped Mr. Leo Abraham in Lagos on August 20, 2012, and dumped him at Badagry Road in Lagos after he paid N15m.

The gang earned a handsome ransome of $1 million from Ojukwu Cosmas, a Toyota parts seller at Aspanda Trade Fair, who was kidnapped on January 21, 2016, at Festac Town.

Also, James Uduji who was kidnapped by the gang at Seventh Avenue, Festac Town late 2016 paid $1.2m before he was set free after spending six weeks in the custody of the Evans’ gang. In the same vein,  Chief Raymond Okoye Odu-Na–Ichida who was kidnapped in 2015 also paid $1m to regain his freedom after two months in captivity.

Uche Okoroafor, a trader at Alaba International Market, Lagos, was kidnapped by the gang in 2015 and held captive for three months before he was released after paying $1m, just as Elias Ukachukwu, who was kidnapped by the gang in November, 2015 also paid $1m for his release.

Another Lagos based spare parts dealer, Francis Umeh was kidnapped in July 2016, at Raji Rasaki Estate and was released after paying a ransome of $1m.

Evan’s  gang attempt in 2013, to kidnap Chief Vincent Obianudo, the owner of Young Shall Grow Motors, met with stiff resistance from the policemen attached to the transporter.  The policeman shot and killed two members of the gang. Though the gang also killed a policeman and some of its members escaped, Chief Obianudo, however sustained bullet wounds during the attack, survived after several surgeries.

Just before it was smashed, the gang had kidnapped Mr. Donatus Dunu, a pharmacist and importer of drugs, on February 14, 2017, in Elupeju area of Lagos. Though his family paid the sum of N150m to secure his release, but Evans collected the money and refused to release the victim, insisting that an additional N300m must be paid.

But Dunu later escaped from Evans’ detention camp in Igando on May 12, 2017, without paying the additional ransom.

Outside of Lagos, in Edo State, the gang kidnapped Mr. Ohunyon Ernest in November 2011 for which they received  N85 million as ransom.  just as

Also, in Edo State, Evans and his gang’s kidnapping of Mr. Dan Odiete in Benin City in 2013 added N100m to their coffer.

Also, the proprietor of Uyi Technical who was kidnapped by Evan’s gang in Benin City in 2013 paid N100m before he was released.

Another victims of the Evans’ gang identified simply as Tom kidnapped in Benin in 2012, paid N100m to be set free.

A paint manufacturer who was also kidnapped in Benin City in 2010 Evans and his gang coughed out N40m to regain his freedom.

In the same vein, one Mr. Randeki, who was kidnapped by the gang in 2010 paid N30m for his release.
