Boko Haram ‘member’, kidnappers nabbed in Yobe

Troops of Nigerian Army operating under the aegis of Forward Operation Base early Sunday arrested one Bala Ibrahim, suspected to be a fleeing member of Boko Haram terrorist in Fika area of Yobe State.

Brigadier General Sani Usman, director of Army Public Relations said in a statement that preliminary investigations show that the suspect is an indigene of Bulabulin village, Fika Local Government Area, Yobe State.

He added that the suspect is being interrogated.

In the same vein, the Army Public Relations chief also revealed that troops deployed at Forward Operation Base Yuga on blocking position, acting on a tip-off from well-meaning individuals, ambushed and arrested 4 suspected kidnappers at Mundu village.

According to him, the suspects, Yahaya Auta, aged 25, Salisu Lawal, aged 20 years, Umar Mohammed, aged 18 years and Samaila Abubakar were found to be in possession of 1 Locally made six Loader single barrel Gun, 1 empty cartridge, 2 machetes, a knife, 2 mobile telephone handsets, 2 packets of Tramodol tablets and a sum of N360.00.

He said the suspects who were arrested while on their way to commit crime are also being investigated.
