Council boss advocates regular tax payment in Ogun

Residents of Sango-Ota and its environs in Ogun have been urged to pay taxes and rates when due to enable government to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

The Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State, Oladele Adeniji, made the call during interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Ota, Ogun on Tuesday.

Adeniji added that such payments would enable the government to provide adequate amenities for the people.

According to him, it is the responsibility of every administration to improve its Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) drive so as to improve the welfare of the citizens.

”We are making concerted efforts to improve our IGR because without that, the state will not be able to provide basic infrastructure for the people”, the council boss said.

Adeniji urged people to always be ready to contribute their quota to development of the state.

He also said that a cemetery had been approved for the area as part of the measures to boost its IGR.

Adeniji said the council would soon commence sports to better it’s IGR and also to keep youths busy so that crime rate could be reduced in the state.
