The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, has finally released guidelines for the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
The released notice of election according to LASIEC, is in pursuant to section 21 (1) Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission Law 2008 as amended
Summary of LASIEC’s Election Time-table is as follows:
Friday 14th April – Publication of Election Guidelines by LASIEC
Saturday 15th April – Commencement of Campaign by Political Parties
Monday 17th April to Thursday 18th May – Conduct of Party Primaries by Political Parties and observation by LASIEC
Saturday 1st July – Publication of Notice of Polls at Ward Collation Centres(Day and hour)
Thursday 20th July – End of electioneering Campaigns
Saturday 22nd July – LGA and LCDA Elections
Saturday 29th July – Run off/Re-run Election(s) if any.
