Olubadan to celebrate 1st Coronation anniversary

Ther Chairman, Olubadan Coronation Anniversary Committee, Agbaakin Olubadan, Oloye Lekan Alabi, at a recent press conference revealed that activities to mark the first coronation anniversary of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Olasupo Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, is already in top gear.

Oloye Alabi who disclosed that the anniversary would span between March 1 and 6 has an array of programmes lined up to celebrate the anniversary adding that a city wide carnival tagged ‘Olubadan Carnival’ would kick start the celebration.

According to him, the conferment of honourary chieftancy titles on notable and deserving people of Ibadan, Oyo state in general and south western part of the country at large would round off the anniversary.

Assuring maximum security of lives and property during the celebration, he stated that the anniversary lecture and tree planting in strategic areas of the ancient city is slated for Thursday March 2nd.

Oba Saliu Adetunji was installed as the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland on the 4th of March, 2016 by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State after the demise of the 40th Olubadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, Odugade 1.
