Niger NSCDC deploys plain-clothed officers to tackle cattle rustling

The Niger Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday announced the deployment of its armed plain-clothed security personnel on foot patrols in areas notorious for cattle rustling in the state.

The State Commandant, Mr Philip Ayuba,made this known on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)in Minna.

Ayuba said the measure would help in arresting rustlers,kidnappers and other criminals.

He said that already officers concerned had been briefed on security methods to be adopted in apprehending the criminals.

” We have issued a specific operational order on how to go about the operation in areas consider to be criminals’ hotspots, ” he said.

The commandant also disclosed that plain-clothed security personnel had been deployed in all the major cattle markets across the state.
