The Supreme Court on Friday, in a unanimous judgement dismissed an application seeking to nullify the election of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers State.
In the application, Joe Agi (SAN) a member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who contested with Ayade for the party’s gubernatorial ticket had asked the apex court to nullify the election of the governor over allegations of false declaration of age.
Agi also asked the court to declare the victory at the party’s gubernatorial primary null and void and declared him the winner.
But a five-member panel of justices unanimously dismissed the application for lacking in merit.
