A Non Governmental Organization NGO, Kogi Plus has called on indigenes and corporate organizations in Kogi state to vigorously invest in cassava and rice production to make the state an industrial hub for the citizenry.

The coordinator of the group Alhaji Abdulkareem Sani Omolori who made the call in Lokoja yesterday at a press conference , said human capital development had been neglected for long, giving rise to youth restiveness and act of criminalities that are alien to the state.

While emphasising on the need to assist government through individual and corporate organisation commitment, Prince Omolri said over 90 percent of potentials which abound in Kogi state are yet to be harnessed, stressing that if people can invest in cassava and rice production, it will go along way in creating jobs and make food readily available for the people at affordable rate.

Reacting on the statement credited to Senator Tunde Ogbeha where the elder statesman said the ongoing probing of the previous administrations instituted by the present administration is unnecessary, the Coordinator pointed out that the state in the last 13 years of the People Democratic Party’s led administration, a lot of billion naira federal allocation WS accrued to the state, lamenting that the rate of development is so poor that even a passerby asked question weither there was a government in the state.

“According to him “We see Senator Ogbeha’s statement as a ploy to cast aspersion on the integrity of the probe panel. This state between 2003 to 2015 have received so much from the federation account , but regrettably nothing to show for it and Ogbeha did not see any thing bad in it. Roads , schools, hospitals, electricity are in a sorry state , is this Kogi of our dreams?

” The new direction agenda of the present administration is to create a pathway for development and as such , proper foundation has to be layer through check and balance which involved looking back to know where the fault hindering the development of the state comes from. Therefore any probe should not be a thing that create unnecessary fear if the records are right”
