Hoodlums Attack Journalist in Lokoja

The Correspondent of Leadership Newspaper in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, Mr. Sam Egwu cheated death by the whiskers yesterday when some unidentified hoodlums pouched on him, on his way home from office. The attack allegedly took place in Ganaja area, at about 8. 30 pm.

The Seven man gang, driving in a Sienna caravan bus was said to have blocked the reporter’s ‎car, forced the door opened and started reigning blows on him.

The cloth on ‎him was torn to shred, some documents inside the car were vandalised, while others were carted away.

“You have been criticising us, we will deal with you till you learn your lessons”, one of them was quoted as saying in Igala.

Narrating his ordeals, Egwu said he saw “the bus earlier parked around Diamond Bank‎ Government House junction when I passed. Little did I know that I was their target”

It took intervention of some good Samaritans who on seeing the attack moved closer to the scene and made efforts to rush to the car. Luckily, the attackers fled tax they perceived help coming on the way.

The incident has been reported at the police ‘C’ Division station on Ganaja road for investigation.
