Rivers Governor, Nyesom  Wike on Thursday  swore-in the Caretaker Committee Chairmen for three Local Government Areas with a vow that he will ensure the prosecution of any government official discovered to have link with the cult gangs that have been killing people in scores across different communities of the State.

Those sworn-in include: Hon. Gbara Erelo,  Caretaker Committee Chairman (Khana Local Government Area), Hon. Monday  Dum-Iye,  Caretaker Committee Chairman (Gokana Local Government Area) and Hon Adonye Kelly Diri,  Caretaker Committee Chairman  (Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area).

The governor said  that  the  caretaker committee chairmen  have a responsibility  to  cooperate  with  security  agencies  to  build the security  architecture  of  their local  government  areas.

He added that any of the caretaker committee chairmen who fail to cooperate with the security agencies will lose his appointment.

He said: “Make sure you cooperate with the security agencies to flush out cultists.  We cannot allow the cultists disturb the peace and security of the state.  Enough is enough “.

The  governor  said  that  he has received  security  reports  which the security  agencies  will act upon as they relate to the sponsors of  cultists.

Governor Wike noted that any official of the State Government found to be connected to the cultists will be arrested and prosecuted.

He directed the Caretaker Committee Chairmen to ensure they pay monthly salaries  regularly.
