The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal office, will Monday, on 16 May 2016, arraign an alleged fraudster, Bisi Lillian Olagunju, before an Oyo State High Court sitting Ring Road, Ibadan. This will be on a three-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N9 million.

According to an investigation, this arraignment will be the first in Ibadan since the commission opened shop in the ancient city, this year.

According to a press statement signed by its spokesman in Ibadan, Mr. Oyewole Ayo, Olagunju who allegedly claimed to be a Special Adviser to a purported Rural and Urban Development Committee Chairman of the National Assembly, obtained the total some in tranches from one Abiodun Julius under the pretence of helping him to facilitate contracts as well as employment opportunity for his younger brother.

Investigations have revealed that since the commission started operation in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, it has received a barrage of petitions bordering on economic crimes.

It was further gathered that as at today, the commission is finding it difficult to cope with the high number of petitions received on daily basis due to shortage of personnel.
