Doctors and nurses in Ondo State Specialist Hospital,  Ikare Akoko have embarked on a work boycott after N15million meant for their in November  was stolen by the accounting officer of the hospital,.

The officer was said to have absconded with the money.

The health workers  asked government to redeem the already bad situation as workers in the state are being owed salaries in arrears.

The protesting workers called on government to urgently arrest and prosecute the suspected fraudulent accountant.

During a visit to the hospital, the Chairman of the Ondo State Management Board, Dr Niran Okunrinboye appealed to workers to return to work and allow government to find a solution to the problem.

But the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Mr. Kolawole Ezekiel insisted that all staff of the hospital had embarked on strike to press home for the payment of their November salary.
