Dr Olubunmi Muhammed Balogun, Secretary of Ekiti All Progressives Party (APC) Elders Initiative Forum has admonished the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, to concentrate on governance rather than turning himself to the arch critic of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Fayose, according to Balogun, was elected to govern Ekiti state “but instead of doing the job he was elected to do, he is busy going all over the country saying negative things about the President who was voted for by a country of almost 200 million people.”

Fayose, as Balogun put it, became notorious for carrying his criticism to a ridiculous level even before the elections. “He was telling Nigerians that the President would die while in power, the President would need diapers, because his (Fayose’s mother) was using them. Fayose went and displayed his certificate at a rally in Ado Ekiti, challenging Buhari to show his to the whole world too. Fayose was not done with all this; he published adverts wishing the president dead!”

Balogun reminded Fayose that God his not like man. God brought Buhari to power and he will sustain him.

“Why should Fayose continue to make incendiary statements that can set Christians and Muslims against each other? This Fayose who calls himself Peter the Rock, an invincible being, has forgotten that dynamite is the nemesis of all rocks,” Balogun said, adding that Fayose should learn from his past mistakes.
