The Biola Alabi Media Productions, a media content developer, is set to debut a new TV show, ‘Bukas and Joints’.

The new TV show, premiering on 20 March on AIT Network, will explore African cuisine and share with viewers across Africa and beyond the story of African delicacies.

‘Bukas and Joints’ will have as host award winning broadcaster Olisa Adibua. He will take viewers on a gastronomical journey of food while showcasing some of the finest cuisines and places to eat across the African continent.

A statement from the producers stated that ‘Bukas and Joints’ will capture the very essence of the universal language of food, and Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city, is the first stopover.

Nigeria, according to the statement, was chosen because of its 170 million population, drawn from 500 different ethnic groups – all have a story to tell, with one unifying factor: food.

The producers explained further why they came up with the concept: “Our aim is to showcase African cuisine to the world, and Olisa’s immense popularity and appeal makes him the perfect person to host the show,” stated the producers.

Olisa will visit several places that serve up an array of amazing food while also exploring both the local and international food culture in Lagos. He will delve into the history of the food, the joints and the culture.

The 13-episode series, with each episode running for half an hour, will take viewers on several interesting and mouth-watering food adventure across 50 eateries in the first season of the show.
