Dr Olubunmi Muhammed Balogun, Secretary of Ekiti All Progressives Party (APC) Elders Initiative Forum has drawn the attention of the founding father of the party to the dangers of under funding of the party at the ward, local government, state and federal levels.
In a press release, he argued that from state to the federal levels, “the party needs urgent attention of President Muhammadu Buhari before it is too late”.
Balogun added that since the President came to power, ward meetings had not been held due to lack of funds. “In fairness to Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other good spirited party leaders, they have done their best for the party to get to power, one will not expect them to be funding the party the way they used to do. If we look at all the re-run elections that took place in every state, APC did not do well due to lack of funds.”
The party chieftain admonished that though it is good to save money, “at the same time it must not be to the level of killing the party.” The president, according to him, must remember that in everything he is doing, the party should be one of his priorities.
