Coalition of APC Support Groups has risen up to defend Hajjiya Ramotu Aliyu, the National Women Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) over the rumours milling around that she is working against the success of the party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State.

The governorship election in Kogi State is scheduled for 21 November with Abubakar Audu and Abiodun Faleke running on the ticket of the national ruling party. Comrade Majeed Yahaya, National Youth Leader of the Coalition of APC Support Group said in Abuja early on Tuesday that there is no iota of truth in the rumour that Hajjiya Aliyu is not working for APC in Kogi State.

“Our National Women Leader, Hajjiya Ramotu Aliyu, is a loyal member of APC and she has been working for the actualization of the governorship ticket of our candidates; Prince Audu Abubakar and his running mate, Hon. Abiodun Faleke, in the coming election in Kogi State,” said Comrade Yahaya, who is also the Programme Coordinator of Kogi Youth Arise For Audu/Faleke (KOYA 2015).

As he put it: “If you are looking for a person that has committed her time and resources for victory of APC in Kogi State especially ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election, the person to look for is Hajjiya Aliyu. I can conveniently say that she has been supporting the cause of KOYA 2015 since it was formed to work and mobilise for our candidates in Kogi election. So if some people are now peddling the rumour that Hajjiya Aliyu is against Audu and Faleke, then we should know that it is the work of those mischievous people and the enemies of APC.”

“APC National Women Leader has been playing important roles in the activities of KOYA 2015. We have been having series of meetings which Hajjiya Aliyu has been supporting. So if anybody could be making such insinuation about her commitment to the cause of APC in Kogi, then it must be coming from enemies of APC who fear the heavy defeat that awaits bad government of People Democratic Party (PDP) on 21 November,” said Comrade Yahaya, who is also the National Chairman of APC National Youth Assembly.

He said that members of KOYA 2015 have been involved in the mobilisation of the people of Kogi State for APC since the build-up towards the election started, adding that members of the group cut across ethnic divides in Kogi State. He noted that KOYA also brings on board people living with disabilities in Kogi to work for APC. He said that KOYA will among other things ensure that votes will be counted during the election.
