Adedayo Adeneye, Musical show host and inseparable partner of Kenny Ogungbe was among the five new  commissioner nominees  sent by Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state  to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.

Others are Babajide Odubanjo, Adewale Osinowo, Mrs Adenrele Adesina and Mrs Modupe Njota.

A letter from the governor containing the names of the nominees was
read on the floor of the House by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Surajudeen
Ishola Adekunbi.

Adekunmbi disclosed that the approval would enable the governor to
appoint commissioners, who would help him in administering the state.

On October 8, the assembly  screened and confirmed 18 commissioner nominees sent to them by the governor.

Those that have been confirmed include: Mr Jide Ojuko, Mr Sunday
Bamiwola, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, Mr Bolaji Oyeleye, Mr Leke Adewolu, Mr
Afolabi Afuwape, Mr Gbenga Ademosun, Mr Kolawole Lawal, Mr Segun
Abiodun and Mr Olumide Ayeni.

Others were Mr Bimbo Ashiru, Mr Rotimi Durojaiye, Mr Adebola Adeife ,
Mrs Adenike Osoba, Mrs Ronke Sokefun, Mr Muyiwa Oladipo, Mr Olamilekan
Adegbite and Mrs Yewande Amusan

A  7 man committee had been inaugurated by the House to be chaired by
the Deputy Speaker, Hon.Olakunle Oluomo to screen the new commissioner
nominee tomorrow.

Each of the nominees is expected to come to the House of Assembly with
30 copies of their resume and original certificates tomorrow for
screening by 10:00 am.

Adeneye, 55, founded Kennis Music,  a record label with his friend, Kenny Ogungbe. Both of them have inspired a generation of music stars specializing in R& B, pop and hip-hop  music.

D1, as he’s fondly called, had his primary education at St. Catherine’s Nursery and Primary School, Surulere (Lagos). He attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar School  and the Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos, In 1985 , he bagged a Bsc degree in Business Administration from the Southern University of New Orleans, USA.  A year after, he obtained  a Masters’ degree in Mass Communication with emphasis on Radio and Television production from Southern University, Baton Rouge, USA.

He had worked with  Raypower radio station and AIT before and his friend ventured out on their own.
