Ohiwerei

Guaranty Trust bank plc has announced the retirement of Ohiosimuan Ohiwerei  from the board with effect from October 18.

Ohiwerei was executive director responsible for commercial banking, Lagos division and public sector.

His position has been filled by Haruna Musa. The bank did not give reason why Ohiwerei was stepping aside from the board.

Mr. Ohiwerei holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Benin and also a Master of Business Administration degree from the same school. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

His career spans over 19 years in core banking, out of which he served as Chief Financial Officer of Diamond Bank Plc prior to joining Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

He had a stint at Ecobank Plc where he was Country Treasurer for Nigeria and also a critical part of the regional treasury audit team. His exposure to multicurrency and multicultural institutions has strengthened his risk management skills.

He joined the Board on October 19, 2011.
