A 10-bedroom house in London that used to be the official home of Nigeria’s High Commissioner in the United Kingdom is being offered for sale.
The House at 15A Kensington Palace Gardens is being offered for a hefty £85m by its vendor, Crown Estates, which manages a £10 billion property portfolio for the Queen of England.
It was occupied by the Nigerian High Commissioner to the country in the 70s, the decade of oil boom.
The house is located on the road dubbed Billionaires Row and has a 125-year lease.
The Mail Online reported that it has already been viewed by representatives of Middle Eastern and European families. One viewer described it as ‘extraordinary’.
Whoever purchases the home will become neighbours with tycoon Leonard Blavatnik, Tamara Ecclestone and Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal.
The mansion boasts 10 bedrooms, a massive dining room with a dinner table for 22 people and a spa and swimming pool area in the basement.
It was built in the mid-1850s at a cost of £7,000. The first occupant was a Peter Carthew who paid a yearly rent of £73 2s 6d.
