Venus Williams has qualified for the quarter finals of the US Open, thrashing Anett Kontaveit 6-2, 6-1 and setting the stage for a possible quarter final showdown with Serena Williams.
The younger Williams is scheduled to play her fourth round match with fellow American Madison Keys.
A win for Serena, the world number one, would once again bring the two sisters head-to-head at the last Grand Slam of the Year.
