A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Col Sam Inokoba, in Bayelsa State, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), is dead.

The state radio station, Royal FM said Inokoba, reported that Inokoba died in Lagos on Tuesday.

Reports that he died in the Lagos home of Timi Alaibe, a governorship aspirant of the APC has been denied by Alaibe, who claimed he was in Abuja at the time of the death.

Inokoba himself was a governorship aspirant from the same Local Government Area with Alaibe, a former MD of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

He picked his nomination form two days ago at a cost of N5.5million.
