The Chairman/Managing Director of Chikwe Tech. Construction Company, Aba, Chief Chidi Ahuekwe, has stated the readiness of his company to clear off all the rubbish that blocked all the drainage systems in Aba and its environs in Abia State.

Ahuekwe said this recently at Brass Street by Okigwe road Junction, Aba while fielding questions from journalists on the strategy adopted by his company on the success story achieved so far, promising that Goernor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of Abia State would celebrate his first 100 days in office with free flow of the drainage system in some major streets in Aba unlike what obtained in the past.

Chief Ahuekwe who lamented the deplorable condition of the gutters in Aba stressed that the depth of the drainage is over 10 feet and there had not been any de-silting of the gutters for 25 years now.

The Ngwa born contractor further revealed that his company is doing quality Job that will stand the test of time and that Governor Ikpeazu will celebrate his first 100 days in office with Mosque road, Brass, Ojike, Okigwe and Azikiwe roads free of flood.

He expressed optimism that his company is ready to gie a 10-year guarantee for each road it dredged while noting that the major problem his company is having in dredging Aba gutters is the blockage of the channels with communication cables. The de-silting contractor further disclosed that another problem his company encounters is blockage of the drainage system with concrete culverts. He, therefore, advised builders to make use of metal culverts in front of their homes.

Ahuekwe hinted that as an Aba man, he is also doing his best to ensure that his kinsman brother and Governor excels in this onerous task of governing the state by ensuring that the Aba drainage system flows freely without any blockage of any sort as was witnessed in the past.

The drainage system expert advised the residents not to put waste into the gutters in order not to block the drainage system. He also advised the contractors building on Aba roads to know the depth of the roads they are constructing so that they don’t make mistake at the end of the day.

Ahuekwe therefore commended Ikpeazu on the good jobs he is doing in Aba roads since he came on board while urging Abians to support the Governor whom he said is poised to take the state to the next level of development unprecedented since the creation of the state.
