Former member of the House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, will file libel claims against Diamond Bank and the Punch newspapers in Lagos tomorrow.
Diamond Bank claimed Abike and a company identified as Thriller Endeavours owed it a chronic debt of N122million.
The Punch reported the story based on an advertisement published by the bank in compliance with the Central Bank directive that bad debtors be exposed and shamed.
Abike in a prompt response on twitter denied owing the bank and said it must have been a case of mistaken identity.
Her tweet reads: ‘Shocked to see my pic in Punch. Said to owe 100m linked to some co. I OWE no one, not even myself? Haba! Punch.’
The second tweet reads, ‘Must be mistaken identity. Diamond Bank and CBN should set the records straight. Definitely NOT ME.!!’
She has now decided to prove her innocence in the law court.
