The Head Coach of the U-23 team, Samson Siasia said on Thursday that the players and technical crew were ready for the Olympic qualifying game against Congo on July 19.

Siasia told pports journalists in Port Harcourt that the team was set for the visiting team.

“You can see we are just working on our finishing touches, on how to score more goals; we are looking at scoring four or more goals or as many as we can.

“We are creating these chances, and we have to bury them. The last game against Zambia, we had chances and we did not score. We do not want that again,” he said.

Siasia said the team had enough care and support from the Rivers Government, as the player did not have any course to complain and so they need to make Nigerians proud.

“Officials of the state headed by the LOC chairman, Boma Iyaye came to the camping site and met with us. We have been taken good care of,” he said.

Siasia said the boys were discipline and hard working as they did not argue and they try to do exactly what you wanted them to do.

He said that there were no foreign-based players in camp because he needed to play with the ones available at home that understand the system of play.

“We do not want to bring any foreign-based players that do not understand our system, or how we have to play,” he said.

Siasia admitted that they did not know much about the visiting Congolese team.

“We do not know much about them, we have been trying to get their video clips for almost a week now. Someone has promised to bring the tape on the match they played against Ghana,

“Hopefully, we get it tomorrow and study their pattern of play,” he said.

According to Siasia, there are no injury worries among the players that will feature in the match.
