Rescue workers at the Kuwaiti Shiite mosque

Maj.-Gen. Mansoor Al’Turki, Spokesman for the Saudi Interior Ministry, said on Tuesday in Riyadh that serious investigations has led to strong suspicion of three Saudi brothers linked with the attack.

He said two of them were born in Kuwait, and the three have connections to their fourth brother who was in Syria and a member of the Islamic State (IS).

Al’Turki said one of the three brothers was arrested by Kuwaiti authorities and would be handed over to Saudi Arabia.

He said the two others were arrested in Saudi Arabia after a shootout with one of them.

The spokesman confirmed that two policemen were injured in the fire exchange and rushed to hospital.

On June 28, The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said that the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the Shiite Muslim mosque was a Saudi national.
