Rufai announced the death toll on Twitter and in series of tweets tried to allay the fears of the people and the efforts his government was making, in collaboration with other agencies to avoid future terrorist attacks.
“The Kaduna State government is working with Federal security agencies that are taking proactive measures to frustrate such terrorists”, Rufai tweeted.

The blast occurred at about 9.00 am as primary school teachers and public staff were undergoing identity checks, ordered by the government to fish out ghost workers from the payroll.
El-Rufai prayed Allah to grant the victims peaceful repose, comfort their families and heal the injured.
