Nigeria’s North-East Governors, whose states have been badly affected by Boko Haram insurgency on Tuesday received a report of the region’s Transformation Strategy.

And they called on the Federal Government to resettle, reintegrate victims of insurgency scattered across the region.

Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe spoke on behalf of the other five governors this while addressing newsmen at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge after the meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

He explained that the North-East Regional Development Plan Committee had liaised with United Kingdom’s Department for International Development to establish an institutional framework for the region.

Dankwambo further explained that the report tagged, “Development Agenda’’ was a follow-up to last year’s North East Economic Forum.

The governors advised the Federal Government to adopt a tripartite approach on resettlement and reintegration of victims of insurgency.

“We call on the Federal Government to resettle and reintegrate all the victims of the insurgency scattered across the region.
The forum has also approved a committee to engage and explore areas of cooperation with international development partners.’’

Dankwambo said that the governors would soon meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on the issue.
