A peaceful protest has broken out in Akwa Ibom State over what the protesters described as irregularities in the Saturday governorship aand House of Assembly elections.
The protesters also decried the snatching of ballot boxes by thugs they described as agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to The Nation, the protest was triggered after INEC began to announce results of phantom elections in many LGAs.
