Ogboru still in the Delta state governorship race

Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, the National Chairman of Labour Party (LP) has said Chief Great Ogboru, remains the party’s governorship candidate in Delta state for the April 11 election.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday Abuja, the chairman observed that some members of the public had been speculating that Ogboru has stepped down for another candidate.

“The rumour going on is unfounded, it is the handiwork of some politicians in the state,’’ he said.

He called on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to put in place necessary measures to sustain free, fair and credible elections during the governorship elections.

He also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his patriotism and courage for accepting defeat in good faith.

Congratulating President- elect Muhammadu Buhari, he urged him to fight corruption, bring back the Chibok girls and improve on agriculture
