AFCON 2015: Cameroun, Mali Share Spoils

Goals in the final 20 minutes of the second Group D match of the ongoing 2015 Africa Cup of Nations saw Cameroun and Mali share the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

With Cote D’Ivoire and Guinea also playing out a 1-1 draw earlier on Tuesday at the same venue, Cameroun and Mali had the chance to take the initiative in the group.

And for a moment, it seemed Mali would get all three points after Sambou Yatabare put the Eagles ahead with a drilled effort from close range after 71 minutes.

Cameroun defender Ambroise Oyongo however equalised – with what was his first senior goal – six minutes from time as the Indomitable Lions held on to claim a point in a dramatic end to the match that saw a Yatabare effort ruled out in stoppage time.

The result, which is the fifth 1-1 draw recorded so far at AFCON 2015, leaves all four nations in Group D level on one point apiece.
