The Peoples Democratic Party’s rescheduled national convention may not hold as a chieftain of the party has instuted a suit asking a federal high court in Abuja to stop the PDP from holding the convention.

Recently, the party shifted its convention from the 6th of December to the 10th and 11th of December, 2014 and President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to be adopted as the sole candidate of the party ahead next year’s Presidential election.

The plaintiff, Mr. Aliyu Ayuba Gubrin, a House of representatives aspirant from Adamawa state, through his lawyer, Lilian Ojimma, in a motion on notice asked the court to also restrain the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu from acting as the chairman of the party.

In the suit, the plaintiff asked for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the PDP from holding its national convention slated for the 10th and 11th of december, 2014 under the chairmanship of Adamu Mu’azu pending the determination of the suit.

Already, Mu’azu is gearing up to chair the party’s national convention.

Jutice Evoh Chukwu of the court is to hear the case on 10th December. The convention of the party begins on this day.
