US banking giant JPMorgan Chase said Tuesday it had returned to profits in the third quarter after being saddled with extraordinary charges a year ago.
It posted profits of $5.57 billion, equivalent to $1.36 per share, the bank said in a statement online, an hour before it had been scheduled to release its quarterly earnings report.
