Mr Akinfolarin Feyisola, Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, Ekiti State, has directed Governor Kayode Fayemi to declare his “end of tenure assets” unfailingly before 16 October, the expiration of his tenure.

Feyisola told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday that the directive also affected the outgoing deputy governor and other political office holders.

He said that all the affected public officers had been duly informed.

On ascension of office four years ago, Fayemi declared his net worth to be N750million.

He gave his cash assets in his local and foreign accounts as N27 million while buildings and undeveloped property he jointly owns with his wife both within and outside Nigeria were valued at N474 million. They include a compound of three buildings in Ibadan valued at N73 million,; a compound of eight buildings at Isan-Ekiti valued at N120 million; a three bedroom duplex in London valued at 280,000 British pounds and a four bedroom detached duplex at Atlanta, Georgia, USA worth US$250,000.

Others are a six bedroom detached house at East Legon, Ghana valued at US$650,000, an undeveloped plot of land at Guzape District in Abuja valued at N30 million, an undeveloped plot of land at Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos valued at N25 million and an undeveloped plot of land at Ambassadorial Enclave, Legon, Ghana valued at US$250,000.

Also declared as assets by the governor were nine vehicles valued at N73 million, his business enterprises known as Amandla Consulting is valued at N50 million while his household items like generating sets, electronics, furniture, equipment and others were valued at N80 million.

Feyisola said that it was mandatory for every political office holder in all parts of the country to declare their assets when coming and leaving office.

He said that defaulters would be dragged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal for going against the law.

He said that some of the officers had started collecting the assets declaration forms after receiving the reminder of the constitutional provision.

The director, however, said the current closure of all courts in the state was a challenge for those who had filled their forms but have nowhere to swear affidavit or do other court processes.

Feyisola advised those who are yet to collect or complete their assets forms to do so immediately, while awaiting the re-opening of the courts.
