Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has slammed a dusk to dawn curfew on the state, following the second day of violence.

In a broadcast to the people of the state on Friday, Fayemi regretted the death of Aderiye Omolafe and the damages done to several property by protesters.

The curfew will last from 7pm till 7 am.

Fayemi also announced that he had suspended the on-going “thank-you-tour” he embarked upon to Local Governments in the state to round-off his tenure.

The governor, who blamed various security agencies in the state for not acting fast to prevent the violence since Monday, said he had issued advisory to the State Attorney-General to see if pending cases in the state courts that are currently shut down could be heard in other venues.
