Boko Haram attacks: Same of the same lines from Aso Rock

Boko Haram attacks: Same of the same lines from Aso Rock

Another terrorist strike in Kano, another familiar strain of commiserations from Nigeria’s presidency.

Aso Rock ought by now to be tired of sounding like a broken record: commiserating with the dead and their relations, wishing the injured speedy recovery and promising to chase down to the pit of hell the terrorists, who carried out ‘the dastardly act’.

The Jonathan presidency reeled a similar yarn of sympathy after Wednesday’s attack on Federal College of Education in Kano.

Thirteen people had been killed before the police came in, killing two of the terrorists, making the death toll 15.

Scores were also injured.

The President commended the officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force who took prompt action to confront the attackers and minimize resultant casualties.

He urged them to be even more alert and proactive in the future to stop terrorist attacks in Kano and other parts of the country.

And he concluded with the boring line: “President Jonathan reassures the people of Kano and all Nigerians that the Federal Government continues to do all within its powers to further enhance the ability of the Police, Armed Forces and other security agencies to prosecute the war against terrorism to a successful conclusion and provide greater security of lives and property across the country.”.

At another time of attack,(Only God knows where next), expect same lines of Presidential sympathy: same of the same. We are bored. Guess they are not so bored in Aso Rock!
