Reigning African champions Nigeria have this evening arrived in Cape Town ahead of the Cup of Africa Nations qualifying match against South Africa on Wednesday.
The team in South Africa is made up of 21 players, with El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper David Obiazor, who was part of the squad against Congo, not making the trip.
Also, Villarreal forward Ike Uche as well as his brother Kalu Uche have not been recalled to the Super Eagles, contrary to reports which made the rounds earlier today. Uche Nwofor meanwhile remains with the team.
The Super Eagles head into the Group A encounter knowing it must avoid defeat to group leaders Bafana Bafana or further risk missing out on defending the African title in Morocco early next year.
Nigeria began the qualifying campaign with a shock 3-2 loss to Congo in Calabar on Saturday, the first time the Super Eagles have lost a competitive match (in 90 minutes) at home in 33 years.
